Dr. Nadine Lida Broodryk
I'm Dr. Nadine Lida Broodryk, the artist behind Lida La Luna Art, a South African creative studio where expressive, fresh watercolour and personal storytelling come together. Inspired by life's meaningful moments, the beauty of people and places, and a lifelong curiosity shaped by my background in science, education, and doctoral research, I create art that captures more than appearances — it celebrates personality, connection, and cherished memories.

My artistic approach is intuitive, thoughtful, and often delightfully spontaneous. I don't strive for photographic perfection. Instead, I look for character, movement, expression, and the little details that make each subject unique.
It is this balance between observation and creative freedom that makes painting so meaningful to me.

From live wedding and event guest portraits to bespoke commissions and paintings of meaningful places, each artwork is individually hand-painted with warmth, character, and a touch of spontaneity. Together with my husband, Marius, who supports the behind-the-scenes arrangements, I strive to make every creative experience personal, memorable, and genuinely special. Marius, Operations & Events Support
Marius is part of the Lida La Luna Art team and supports the business behind the scenes and at events. At weddings and events, Marius sets up the pop-up stand and takes the reference photographs that Lida uses to paint each guest portrait. Away from events, Marius looks after admin, bookkeeping and finances, and designs and manages the website. This keeps every booking running smoothly, from the first enquiry to the finished artwork.
