Dr. Nadine Lida Broodryk is a South African artist and educator whose work lives at the intersection of art, reflection, and human experience. Her creative practice is deeply rooted in her doctoral research, Being a student in the 21st century, where she meaningfully integrated her own artworks as part of an autoethnographic exploration of identity, learning, and becoming.
With an academic foundation in the natural sciences (BSc, BSc Honours, and MSc), Nadine brings a unique sensitivity to patterns, detail, and the beauty of the natural world — elements that subtly shape her artistic voice. She draws inspiration from masters such as Vincent van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci, whose work reflects both emotional depth and a profound attentiveness to creation.
Alongside a lifelong love for art, Nadine has pursued private art training since 2013, continually refining her technique while nurturing an intuitive, expressive style. Her work is characterised by a quiet attentiveness to people, place, and story.
Through offerings such as intimate guest portraits and her signature “Constellations of Us”, Nadine creates art that holds meaning — capturing not only how something looks, but what it represents. Her gentle, reflective nature is woven into each piece, inviting others to pause, remember, and see beauty in their own stories.
